History of Triple “A” Goshen Stars FC
Goshen Stars Football Club was founded in the year 2001, by Abiodun Kolawole Samuel. Later in 2008, there was a reform that changed the name “Goshen Stars FC” to “Triple A Goshen Stars FC till the present day this was due to the quest of affiliating to NFF i.e. Nigeria Football Federation, an existing club that has already registered the name “Goshen fc” hence the addition of Tipple “A” a sponsoring company managed by Ademola Stephen Agunbiade a FIFA licensed agent and presently the team manager and a scout to Triple-A Goshen stars Fc.
Home games of the club are being played at the Goshen Arena located in Sura. The team had mixed fortunes and over the years not win a major trophy until 2010 moving up and down between divisions and amateur leagues.
The team improved its standing and became one of the most successful clubs in the “Surulere Regional League” now known as The United Football Club leagues.
They are three-time champion and two-time runner-up in the Lagos FA division, making them the first team to win the league on an unbeaten run in the year 2010 with a total number of 97 goals for the season.
The team represented Nigeria in the year 2009 in Ghana in an open competition.
Despite the history of an array of notable players who have performed with the club, Ishowo Abdsalam was the first player to make his way to a divisional club in the United Kingdom, followed by Lewis Agbontyn who had a successful spell in the Kuwait division. However, the likes of Rasheed Ayoola (Korea), Lekan Osho (Sweden), Billy Oame (Dublin), Esun Kayode (Russia), Sowemimo Micheal(Italy), Amara Friday (Benin), Emeka Asogwa and Femi Olodipupi ( Somalia) also became successful in the respective clubs
